Welcome to Turakan – the town of the beautiful sunsets on Danube!
We – the supporters of the Transmariska Association, want to make your walk around our town interesting and informative, by telling you the story of the old houses of Tutrakan – stories about people who once lived.
Thanks to the financial support of the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, we created an Internet-based information system Smart Point, which presents the history of the old houses in Tutrakan built in Viennese style, typical of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, the time Tutrakan was an important trade center for grain exports to Austria-Hungary and other countries along the Danube with over 10 large grain traders and a rich socio-cultural life.
The information system applies the new technologies – QR codes in combination with a mobile site. QR code (short for Quick Response) is a specific matrix barcode, recognizable by special QR barcode readers through cameras on mobile phones. The barcode consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. In our system, it is used as an easy way to take the user to an Internet address where the information about the house is located. The result is a convenient information system that allows people to scan a QR code with their smartphone and learn more about the building in front of them.
Each object in the system – the corresponding old house (Smart point), has a unique QR code. The generated individual QR code is printed on a sticker or sign placed on each house of the project. After scanning with a mobile phone or other smart device, the visitor is taken to a page with information about the house.
*It is necessary that you have installed application for QR code reading and internet connection. If have not installed such an application, you can do it on your smart device on the following link:
www.ply.gl/la.droid.qr
Look for the sign of the “Old houses of Tutrakan”, placed on the houses of the project, and scan the QR code to find out the history of the house and the fate of the Dobrudzha.
You can read the history of each house by opening our website: www.en.oldhouses.eu
We wish you a pleasant walk in the past of Tutrakan!
